The short answer is Yes!! Ask your contractor if he/she is licensed. If your project will be a permit job, you are all set – the City or Township will verify their license. If it will not be a permit job, you can verify their license by calling the state.
What’s the long answer? Although there are no guarantees that your project will be a success just because the contractor is licensed, it is one item that should be on your list as you select the contractor you will trust with your most treasured possession, your home.
