I am going to have my basement remodeled. The contractor I want to hire told me I should pull the permit, that it will be cheaper and less hassle. Is that true?

The short answer is Yes!! Ask your contractor if he/she is licensed. If your project will be a permit job, you are all set – the City or Township will verify their license. If it will not be a permit job, you can verify their license by calling the state.
